While you would be reading about transfer windows and players being reshuffled from one team to another in this present scenario, the Wasps management is busy working out training center plans as well as planning on relocating their business operations.
It has been rumored that the Wasps RFC would be looking to relocate their business operations to Coventry from London. The move has already been decided upon by Wasps Holdings Limited. They have changed their registered address to Ricoh Arena from Acton in London.
It might not come as any surprise as Ricoh Arena has been in the news recently, with flag bearing matches of the Aviva Premiership league taking place in this arena, like the match between Newcastle Falcons and Wasps. The team has relocated their business to Coventry which might make it easier for business and game operations for the team. Their previous training ground had been at Twyford Avenue Sports ground in Acton, London. The change has been made recently.
The change has been planned along with the club deciding to spend about seven million in setting up a training base permanently in the city. Wasps officials are hoping that their proposal for a training center at Alan Higgs center will work out. The council needs to give the nod in agreement for the work to commence and is scheduled to be completed in the next season.
Meanwhile the Wasps are training temporarily at a base that has been set up at Broadstreet Rugby club located at Binley Woods. There are certain concerns about the future of the FC’s academy at the site where the training center is proposed. However, it is hoped that the changes will come through and the Wasps will be able to have a solid base in the city in the coming months.
